Private TETP Programs

Here at TETP, we are happy to share what we have learned about the therapeutic benefits of elephant-assisted therapy for children with special needs. One way that we share what we do is through offering private OT sessions to clients from around the globe.

Who?

Private OT programs are appropriate for international clients who are interested in experiencing elephant-assisted therapy. We accept clients on an individual basis depending on therapeutic goals, appropriateness for therapy, and TETP schedule availability.

What?

Private OT clients will have the opportunity to participate in an individualized elephant-assisted therapy program that is designed and facilitated by the occupational therapist to address specific goals of the child and the child’s family. Example activities of a typical day program are orientation, purchasing elephant food from a pretend market, feeding the elephant, mounting and dismounting an artificial elephant, riding the elephant, bathing the elephant, playing games with the elephant such as ball-toss and relay-race, completing elephant-themed arts and crafts, and participating in relaxation exercises.

Where?

Thai Elephant Conservation Center, Lampang, Thailand.

When?

Individualized program availability is dependent upon the therapists’ schedule as well as the availability of elephants at the conservation center.

Cost 

Private clients are responsible for funding the program, which costs approximately 22,500 THB per day. Cost includes the elephant fees, therapy staff, lunch, snack, insurance, and transportation from Chiang Mai to Lampang.
