Volunteer with TETP
Here at TETP, we are happy to share what we have learned about the therapeutic benefits of elephant-assisted therapy for children with special needs. One way to learn about this process is through volunteering with our program.
Who?
Volunteer involvement is appropriate for anyone who is interested in learning more about the process of animal-assisted therapy and gaining hands-on experience in this field. Acceptance into the volunteer program is dependent upon the interested individual's qualifications and the TETP schedule availability. Potential volunteers will be asked to submit a resume regarding their background and relevant experience as well as a schedule of their availability.
What?
Volunteers with TETP are given the unique opportunity to contribute to elephant-assisted therapy project development and implementation in northern Thailand. Specific volunteer involvement is dependent upon the individual needs of the project at the time.
Where?
Project development occurs at Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences located in Chiang Mai, while project implementation occurs at the Thai Elephant Conservation Center located in Lampang.
When?
Volunteers typically spend 1-2 weeks with us, however, the specific timeframe depends upon the TETP schedule availability and the personal goals of the volunteer.
Cost
Volunteers are responsible for funding their involvement with TETP. Each project typically costs 200 USD per person to include the elephant fee, transportation from Chiang Mai to Lampang, and food and beverage during the program in Lampang.
